Sepidehdam – Lately it has been reported that the islamic republic has retained a French attorney to represent its lawsuit against Hollywood and the producers of the movie “Argo”.
The internet movie database, IMDb who announced this news also noted that Isabelle Coutant-Peyre is also representing the infamous terrorist, Ramirez Sanchez also known as “Carlos the Jackal” who is responsible for many of the murders and acts of terror committed on behave of the leftist groups in the 1970s. Ramirez Sanchez who is widely regarded as one of the most infamous terrorists of his era and who was once “the most wanted man” is now serving a life sentence in France.
In an interview with Mehrnews, Isabelle Coutant-Peyre, the French attorney who is representing the IRI in its suit against Hollywood said: “I am an attorney and cannot comment regarding the damages sought in this case; however I can tell you that these damages are less than what Hollywood made from the production of the anti-Iranian movie “Argo”. She added: “I will do my best to stop its distribution and to force Hollywood to apologize.”
When asked about the chances of a successful outcome, Coutant-Peyre said: ” An attorney cannot render an opinion at the beginning of a case; however the steps that Iran is taking towards its claim against Hollywood are important ones, as the discussions and the publicity generated by this suit will be able to help the world to focus and uncover the lies told about Iran.
Discussing the Iranian atomic issue, Isabelle Coutant-Peyre said “ The movie “Unthinkable” depicts Iran as the country funding terrorists to hide atomic bombs in three American cities. These lies can easily be challenged since Iran does not have an atomic bomb and not having the atomic bomb is one of the principals of Iran as the leader of the islamic revolution has declared having such a device to be against the islamic beliefs. Iranians are not pursuing the atomic bomb. Sadly the movie “Countdown to zero” has also depicted such an erroneous image of Iran”.
In an interview with the Sun Daily Telegraph in March of 2004, regarding her relationship with Carlos, Isabelle Coutant-Peyre said: “Everybody asks me how I can marry someone with whom I cannot spend time? My answer is: “ I have the best husband..he leaves me alone at night”
The French film maker, Olivier Assayas co-wrote and directed the acclaimed miniseries “Carlos” about the life of the terrorist Ilich Ramirez Sanchez.
Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, AKA Carlos the Jackal, has a dozen terrorist attacks in his resume and most notoriously the raid on an OPEC meeting of oil ministers in Vienna where he took 63 hostages. He is also known to have attempted to assassinate Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and has been linked to several bombings in Paris and London.
In 1980, a week after Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran, entered Mexico, Sadegh Khalkhali stated: “ I have ordered the execution of the Shah and have asked the faithful to kill the Shah and make him pay for his crimes against the people of Iran, where ever he might be”
On May 25 (4th of Tir) in an interview with a French magazine, Khalkhali offered $140,000.00 as a prize for the assassination of the Shah and stated that the international terrorist Carlos in association with the Sandinists and other central American guerrilla groups, was participating in the planning and the organization of the Shah’s execution.
A Documentary about Carlos Jackal on History International
Two days after this interview the Shah’s residence was unsuccessfully attacked.
Carlos was apprehended in Sudan in 1992 and was transferred to the French police. In 2011 he was accused of killing 11 people and injuring more than 150 people in connection with his terrorist attacks in1982 and 1983. The trial took place several months after Mumar Ghadaffi’s death. At the end of the trial during a speech that lasted 5 hours, Carlos read a text he called “Ghadaffi’s will” and called Ghadaffi the greatest revolutionary in history. He ended his monologue with the slogan “Long live the revolution, Allah Akbar” and was echoed by about 15 of his supporters present in the gallery.
In a one page editorial in 2011 the newspaper Le Figaro wrote: “Although the last accusations against Carlos stem from the his operations in the 1980s, the court has the duty to diligently defend the rights of those who have been forever silenced and those who have sustained mental and physical injuries as a result of terrorist acts committed by Carlos”.
Carlos has since converted to Islam and has a number of followers.
In 2009, in a speech to international socialist politicians, Hugo Chavez called Carlos a revolutionary, fighting for social justice. Chavez added “I will defend him ( Carols). It does not matter to me what they say about me in Europe”.
In the Untied States the cost associated with a law suit is proportional to the value of the case. In the case of Argo, the cost of the movie has been estimated to 50 million dollars, and court cost is therefore estimated at more than 80 million dollars, meaning that the IRI will spend about 20 million dollars in court and attorney fees, when the money should and would be better spent on housing, medical care and food for the many needy Iranians.
Many questions come to mind about this lawsuit, for example, is it just an accident that to represent it against Hollywood, the islamic regime has chosen the wife and attorney of a man who has committed many acts of terror in behave of the IRI and its allies?
